Albert B.
Saunders Chapter Recruitment Award
shall be presented to one individual, of the Phi Chi Medical Fraternity, who
helps create or re-establish a previously inactive Phi Chi Chapter.
Author's Award
is given to the author for the most outstanding literary contribution to the
National publication in any one year. The awardee is chosen by the
Editor-in-Chief and confirmed by the Executive Trustees. The award
consists of a marble block with the name of the recipient inscribed and $100.
The award is established at the XLVI Centennial Grand Chapter Convention in
1989.
Certificates of Merit for contribution to the Phi Chi Chronicles
Chapter Editor's Award
is given to the Chapter Editor who submits the best article for publication to
the Central Office. The awardee is selected by the Editor-in-Chief and
consists of a marble block with the recipients name inscribed and $25.
Distinguished Research Award is given to the
members who are selected from submitted research articles and selected by the
Welfare Association. Please follow

Eben J. Carey,
MD Award is presented to the freshman member of each Phi Chi
Chapter having the highest grade in anatomy. A parchment is awarded to the
recipient to recognize the achievement and a mounted plaque bearing the likeness
of Eben J. Carey, MD, in bronze, beneath which metal plates containing the
engraved names of the recipients is presented to the Chapter House. The
award is first established at the XXXI Grand Chapter Convention in 1950.
Honor Award
consists of a jeweled Honor Key obtained only be authorization of active
chapters, alumni chapters, the Executive Trustees or the Grand Chapter as awards
for outstanding or meritorious service to the Fraternity. The Honor Key is
established during the XXXI Grand Chapter Convention on 1949 and first available
in October 1950.
Michael J.
Carey, MD Award is presented annually to the most outstanding
senior class member of each chapter. The award consists of a parchment
provided by the Central Office suitable for framing. The award is first
presented February 26, 1960.
The Rudy F. Sievers, MD, Ph. D.
Service Award is presented annually to the most outstanding
member of each Phi Chi Chapter, based on outstanding service to the chapter, to
the chapter spirit, to the Fraternity, to the faculty, or outstanding service by
an alumnus. The award consists of a parchment provided by the Central
Office and a plaque bearing the name of Rudy F. Sievers, MD Ph.D., together with
a brief description of the award. Beneath the inscription is a metal plate
with the name of the awardee engraved together with the date. The award is
established at the XLVI Centennial Grand Chapter Convention in 1989.
T. B. Pearson, MD.
Award is granted to the most outstanding chapter in any year.
It is conferred by either the Grand Chapter or by the Executive Trustees at
their discretion and need not be awarded annually. It consists of a plaque
bearing the Arms of the Fraternity and the purpose of the award. The award is
established at the XLVI Centennial Grand Chapter Convention in 1989.
