Dr. Theodore B. Pearson was born October 15, 1879, in Louisville, KY.  His parents died when he was an infant.  Dr. Pearson was raised in Jeffersonville, IN and he graduated from the Jefferson High School, May 31, 1898.  At the age of 19, he volunteered for service in the Spanish-American War.  In 1899, he entered the Medical College of the University of Louisville, KY.  He was initiated in Phi Chi February 20, 1900.

In October 1906, Dr. Pearson and Mrs. Pearson moved to Nicholasville, KY.  Nicholasville, KY, was the first Central office of Phi Chi and upon his death, the Central office was moved to the office of Albert F. Saunders, MD in Valdosta, Georgia.

In 1908, T. B. was Chairman of the Executive Committee in Baltimore and Presiding Officer at this meeting, the XII GCC.  He was elected Associate Editor of the Quarterly.  At the XIV meeting, of the GCC in 1910, Louisville, T. B. was elected Editor in Chief.  He published the first directory in the August edition of the Quarterly, 1912.

The T. B. Pearson Award was created by the 46th Grand Chapter in his memory.  This award may be granted to the most outstanding chapter in any year.
