IRVIN ABELL, AA 1897, AM, MD, RACS
FIRST GRAND PRESIDING SENIOR
Dr. Irvin Abell was born in Lebanon, Kentucky, September 13, 1876. He received his AM degree at St. Mary’s College at St. Mary, Kentucky in 1894 and his MD degree in 1897 at the University of Louisville Medical School where he was a member of the Alpha Alpha Chapter of Phi Chi. He was elected Grand Presiding Senior at the first Grand Chapter Convention held in Louisville, Kentucky, May 31, 1897 and was Chairman of the Committee to Revise the Phi Chi Ritual in 1905.
