STATUTE V -- OFFICERS
SECTION 1: All officers of the Fraternity and its chapters are eligible to re-election.
SECTION 2: Any Phi Chi member in good standing is eligible to any office therein.
SECTION 3: Officers of the Fraternity, upon assuming office, shall have the following oath administered to them by the retiring presiding officer:
“With a full realization of the trust that has been committed to me, -- I hereby and hereon pledge my honor -- that I will at all times, -- to the best of my ability, -- discharge the duties of my office, -- uphold the Constitution, -- and advance the principles of The Phi Chi Medical Fraternity -- so help me God and keep me steadfast in due performance of the same.”
SECTION 4: The Grand Secretary-Treasurer shall be elected for a term of ten (10) years.
(a) The Chairperson of the Executive Trustees shall be elected for a term of ten (10) years.
(b) If elected separately, the Editor-in-Chief of the CHRONICLES, shall also be elected for a term of ten (10) years.
SECTION 6: The Editor-in-Chief of the CHRONICLES, if other than the Chairperson of the Executive Trustees, shall be a member of the Grand Chapter, with expenses paid to its meetings.
SECTION 7: All necessary office expenses, of the officers of the Grand Chapter, shall be paid by the Grand Secretary-Treasurer upon presentation of properly attested bills.
SECTION 8: Grand Chapter officers or their designated representatives, when specifically representing the Fraternity on official business such as an essential chapter inspection or the organization of new chapters (or reactivation of former ones) shall, if the finances of the Fraternity permit and if approved by the Executive Trustees, have their basic expenses paid by the Fraternity.
SECTION 9: The Grand Secretary-Treasurer shall maintain a biennial record and inventory of the equipment and supplies located at the Central Office.
SECTION 10: The salary of the Grand Secretary-Treasurer shall be determined by the Executive Trustees.
