Benefits
Alumni Associations
Many chapters have active alumni associations at medical schools. Alumni provide
additional support to Active Members as well as keeping members in contact with
friends from your medical school days, your local chapter and the Grand Chapter.
Alumni Associations traditionally offer social gatherings for both alumni and
meeting new members.
Phi Chi Chronicles
The Fraternity's official magazine provides news of alumni, as well as
articles of personal and fraternal interest. All members enjoy a lifetime
subscription.
Awards
Phi Chi acknowledges the excellencies and successes of chapter members
annually by providing national awards. Eben J. Carey Award in Anatomy -
Certificates of Merit for contribution to the Phi Chi Chronicles,
Chapter Editor Award,
Michael J. Carey, MD. Award,
Author Award, T. B. Pearson
Award, Rudy Sievers, MD, Ph. D. Award,
and Honor Keys.
Student Loans
Funds for loans come from the Phi Chi Welfare Association. They are provided
to" Junior and Senior" student members at a low rate of interest with
deferred repayment schedules. Contact the .
Housing
Chapters traditionally offer low rent housing to its members which is not
only affordable, but is also often conveniently located near the medical
school. This also allows
provisions for accommodations to visiting Phi Chi members who are
interviewing or doing externships at different medical schools. In addition,
our fraternity offers some of the most inexpensive housing on campus, with a
variety of benefits and opportunities for leadership.
Merchandise
Members are offered the opportunity to purchase official Phi Chi Merchandise
such as jewelry, clothing, mugs, ect.
Service
Phi Chi is proud to have an affiliation with Foundation for the International
Medical Relief of Children (FIMRC). Members of Phi Chi can set up one or more
weeks of service in El Salvador, Haiti, India, Uganda, and Costa Rica.
Discounts are offered through a variety of companies and new ones are being added regularly. Members can get full access to the benefits from the Member's Only area.
